Motor insurance is relatively cheap in Tanzania but it does depend on the value of your motor vehicle and what type of insurance you are looking for e.g. Third Party, Third Party Fire and Theft or Comprehensive and the usage of the vehicle e.g. private or commercial.

 I would highly recommend that you go with a reputable company! Cheap and cheerful won't cut it in Tanzania because at the time of a claim you may really regret getting something cheap.

For peace of mind I would suggest that you get your insurance through a good insurance broker! they won't charge you a fee for their services because they are paid their fees from the insurance companies. The insurance market in Tanzania is controlled by brokers and therefore we have access to great rates which you as an individual would not be able to get, also in the time of a claim the broker will coordinate everything and advise you accordingly so that your claim is dealt with swiftly.


Please be advised that under the new insurance premium payment laws all motor insurance is on a cash and carry basis, this means that when picking up your documents you need to pay the full premium.
